Chrissie’s Discoveries

I will only add things here when I feel they are too good not to share. Todays discovery:

Talk to you all real soon, tomorrow is a yarn sorting day -whew that is hard WORK and some work to do on the pear trees now the blossom has fallen. The afternoon must find me penning notes to two children( young people) at opposite ends of this country and both too far away from me.Did i see a message there. received a text from a friend last night it read ‘Chrissie ill phone tomorrow’. oh I fretted and worried send back a message about chicken soup etc etc.So along comes today the phone goes and i hurriedly ask’how are you oh poor you’ hey i am ok was the reply.but you text me to say you were ill . No Chrissie just forgot to put the apostrophe in ,message should have read I’ll phone tomorrow’. wow what a load of sympathy went west there–and I am in credit now. Tried to persuade the long suffering oppo non yarn addict otherwise known as Nigel to let me have a dog! just a little one– got nowhere not even an inch was he moving on the firm no. I ‘ll keep drip feeding  got to work sometime . On that note goodnight yarnies wherever you are keep on clicking.

seems a long time since I wrote this and I have discovered so many more yarns in my quest to find as many ‘yarngasmic’ yarns that I can .

Sundara silks ‘oh my’ when these arrived I just sat looking at them all day and the yarn i am still knitting with on my bedside table is just so blackcurranty it is fab

Posh yarns from Wales and the excitement of waiting for the buy box to appear just gets to me but I still find myself there  yummy colours .

Knitwitchesyarns from Wales too and the gorgeous Eirwen well these yarns defy description they are like knitting with double cream it is so yarngasmic and her colours well fab look at th is monthsLets Knit magazine where I feature with a cashmere shawl from Knitwitches yarn.

there has also been Filatura superior keep watching all the mags for this appearing also used it in my next book due out this Autumn.

The felt slipper kit is finally making an appearance and I HAVE TRIED EVERY FELTING YARN OUT THERE TO GET THE BEST ONE FOR THESE KITS so no surprise that it is Louet Riverstone and it  looks amazing –keep watching for links to where to get these kits .

Natural dyes and silks are another treat  for the soul and Theo’s handyed handspun  is so beautiful

Now a different topic to yarn I am talking needles – I have had just about every sort of needle over the years but now have a favourite  for my lace knitting  and also a favourite for sock knitting which is the brittany dpns .My husband treated me and purchased some antique aluminimum needles in the most amazing colours and I often wonder who first owned them and what did she knit? where did she live ? who was she ? hmm

Any more discoveries this month well yes the talented knitter that my daughter is fast becoming a  beautiful knitter ,lovely even stitches and lovely tension check ,and great designs look for her new work In Lets Knit.
