Knitting is easier.

Well the main part of my days over the last few have been spent building a web site and it has been hard hard work,would rather have tackled a new Bohus pattern.

But I am sure that by next week I will forget what I have taught myself in the past few,what has amazed me is looking at the traffic logs for the site—it is amazing that after only been up and running for less than a day it has had the hits it has.

Anyone got any ideas for a good valentine knitty idea ??brain has dried up

Over the worst

Well it is now 2 weeks since my shoulder operation and I can just about hold the needles without pain Some of the yarns released for 2006 Autumn are just brilliant and one that i have tried quite a lot before the op was Twilleys Spirit and it works well and felts divinely,which is a bonus.

Tried some of the new Trendsetter Yarns coming into the country and have written some patterns for bags Ordered some wool from Flying Fingers just love that name and a real cool pair of needles only 1 size available though do not understand that.Beautiful translucent purple,seems a shame to put yarn on them.

It is like the yarn you buy that you do not have a use for at that moment(atm) remember this phrase I use it a lot–but you have to listen to it whispering’take me home take me home’ and that is it off you go again beginning the stash pile of needing but not ‘atm’..

DAlthough hand knitting is my love I need to know how to get the most and the best from this equipment,So away to Jeanette Spendler’s studio we go.At the moment in pain but will be posting  again when this pain session goes and typing is less annoying

Flaming June

Oh wicked this heat is something else.every year Britain gets caught out with so much talk of bad weather then the sun shines, the shops run out of things, and every body acts like this is the hottest summer.

Well i love it, what I do not like is knitting with felting wool in 26 degrees but gosh this is when the cool cottons and silks and recycled sari-silk and banana fibres etc come out  in all their sumptious shades(is that not a fab word.

My daughter is heading out to Estonia this summer to work in an orphanage out there.So any Estonians reading me drop me an email.

In Dublins fair city

Wow only 1 day to go till I leave for Dublin.So much written in my diary– brain cells not to be relied on for memory at the moment.

I have to see The Book Of Kells.so many times I have used this work as inspiration to be really seeing it is just awesome. Hope to get lots of inspirationThe best of all this is I get Nigel to myself for a whole 4 days no emails,no phones,no church commitments,no work.Plus it is our anniversary whilst we are away so we will choose a joint pressie together–could I persuade him a little dog would be good–well have 4 days to work on it.So to the fair city I go So with a click of the needles ‘goodnight knitters wherever you are’ .

This is where my yarn  is and my husband which is currently in the middle of the UK.

Life is very busy with the needles clicking away.

The garden is looking beautiful and sometimes I curse the hours attending, i am better knitting or felting but then I would not have this haven to wander around and get continuous inspiration from.

June is my favourite month, it is the month I fell in love, and the month of my wedding. So for me it is just the best time.

learnt today of danish designer whose shadow work I love. Marianne Isager cannot find her book in the uk though which is a pain.
Bought yarn today -get so excited when the parcel comes –some fabyarn.
